The privacy policy of the Investigative Journalists’ Union iFact (hereinafter referred to as the Privacy Policy) aims to provide information on the processing (e.g. collection, use, storage, or transfer) of personal information. Personal information may be obtained from our online media platforms (website) or a custom form you fill out.
- Personal data
We collect the following personal information:
- Contact information (e.g. name, surname, address, postal address, email, cell or landline number);
- Username and password;
- Payment information (e.g. card number, expiration date, authorization number, or Card Verification Code (CVC));
- Customer service information (e.g. customer questions, comments);
- Photographs, comments, and other content you provide;
- Information about personal and professional interests, date of birth.

- Contact information of friends or other persons whom you would like us to contact;

We will process your personal data only if at least one of the following conditions is met:
– you consented to process your personal information for one or more purposes (e.g. used the iFact’s website, subscribed to the newsletter, contacted iFact);
– Data processing is necessary to conclude or to fulfill the terms of the contract (related to your donation);
– Data processing is necessary to fulfill a legal obligation binding for us;
- The personal data retention period
Unless otherwise stipulated by law, personal data may be stored and processed for the time necessary to fulfill the above-mentioned purposes or until you withdraw your consent to processing your personal data. Your personal data will be processed in accordance with the law.

– To service providers to facilitate our business activities (e.g. payment authorization, organization of events, sending news, management of iFact’s platforms, risk management, fraud prevention, building trust and security)

– Right to rectification: You have the right to request the rectification of inaccurate personal data or the addition or deletion of personal data.

In certain cases, we may need to verify your identity before proceeding with your request based on the abovementioned rights.
- Personal data protection guarantee
We use appropriate technical, organizational, and administrative security measures to protect any personal data in our possession from loss, misuse, unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or deletion. However, even if we do our best to protect personal data, we cannot guarantee the security of the information sent to our platforms using an unsecured network.
- Changes to the privacy policy
We reserve the right to introduce changes to our privacy policy at any time. Notice about significant changes will be published on our page. However, it is your responsibility to be informed of such changes.
